Welcome to Pelican's Nest in N. Forest Beach! This beautiful ranch-style home (no stairs!) features an open and updated kitchen with high-end appliances, beautifully chosen colors throughout, updated bathrooms, pool table, gas grill, bocce court and private swimming pool. The beach is a short walk from the front door, and the central location makes it easy to enjoy all of the amenities and activities in Forest Beach and Coligny Plaza.

The single-level layout includes four private bedrooms, all with flat screen TVs and private en-suite baths with all new furnishings and fresh paint this spring.

The "Peruvian Pelican" master suite features a King Bed and upgraded bath with separate sinks, Jacuzzi tub and large walk-in steam shower. You may choose to relax in your private sitting area and enjoy the backyard serenity in the early mornings or late afternoons to unwind.

The "Brown Pelican" second master suite features a King Bed, full bath with walk in shower. Sit back and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee from your personal coffee station in your suite. The two comfy chairs will allow for a peaceful start to your day.

In the "White Pelican" suite you will find a Queen Bed with full bath and shower/tub combination. Grab a book and relax in your own personal quiet nook.

The playful "Dalmatian Pelican" suite will accommodate four guests, with a Queen Bed, Twin over Twin Bunk and beanbag chairs for relaxing. The full bath features a walk-in shower.

There is also a queen sleeper sofa in a common area of the home that serves as a separate living area when not used as bedding. This area is located within the large dining space. A hallway half bath serves as a bathroom for guests sleeping in this area.

The living areas of "Pelican's Nest" include an open living room with stunning wood-paneled cathedral ceilings, large leather sofa, flat screen 55" TV and bar stools that settle up to the granite kitchen counter. The updated kitchen includes a center island, stainless steel appliances, Thermador gas range, and granite counter tops. The bar height dining room table seats 12 guests. The main living room includes a game table with 4 chairs and leads to a separate room with full-size pool table, perfect for family competitions and skills tests! A laundry room with full-size washer and dryer is available for guest use, as is a private fenced-in area for bicycle and beach gear storage.

The private swimming pool is surrounded by privacy vegetation and provides countless hours of recreation and relaxation for guests of all ages. The pool can be heated by "heat pump" for an additional fee. A gas grill is provided for guest use and there are plenty of patio chairs and pool furniture to keep you comfortable in the outdoors! You may choose to relax in the rockers under the fans on the back porch or challenge your guests to a game of Bocce, a wonderfully fun game for all ages to enjoy.

Forest Beach is one of the original beach communities in Hilton Head and home to Coligny Plaza with more than 100 specialty shops, grocery stores and outdoor cafes. Forest Beach is home to the Van Der Meer Racquet Club and Tennis Academy, bike trails, and miles of the most beautiful stretch of beach and coastline. Guests are also close to Hilton Head amenities including golf, marinas with water-sports and Zip Line adventure tours.

We have been using Destination vacation for several years and are always pleased with their service. They are quick to respond to any questions or issues that come up. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, and has a fully stocked kitchen. The backyard oasis is very private, has lots of seating, has a Blackstone cooktop, bocci ball court, and a beautiful pool that is enjoyed daily. The walk to the beach is less than 5 minutes, even with young children. Coligny Plaza is very close and we walk and bike there regularly. This home is well taken care of and truly a hidden gem!

This was the second year we have stayed at 17 Pelican, the home is modern, clean, and furnished well. It’s in a quiet cul-de-sac off the main road, very pretty and peaceful and only a block to the beach access. The kitchen has everything a person could need during their stay (we even noticed a waffle iron this trip!). The pool is relaxing after a long day at the beach, we used the pool and patio daily during our stay. Pelican 17 has the perfect location and everything we need, so we rebooked again for next year :) Not sure if I included this in last years review and maybe some can benefit from it- the shops at coligny are only a 10-15 minute walk from the house, either by sidewalk or beach. Lots of live music in the summer evenings and the playgrounds are great for kids. The Piggly Wiggly is in town, Harris Teeter lies right outside the entrance to Sea Pines.

Destination Vacation was excellent to deal with .They went above and beyond. We stayed at 17 Pelican which is a fabulous house. We had some minor things that needed fixing. The offered to come right out but we requested they wait till after our stay . We would definitely use them again.

We have used Destination Vacation for previous rentals and are always very pleased. 17 Pelican far exceeded our expectations, though. The house was immaculately clean, the accommodations were impressive. We cook most meals in, and the kitchen lacked for nothing. Everything we could have wished it had was there. There were even hair dryers provided! The pool and deck area had so much seating, no one lacked for a spot in the sun or shade. The walk to the beach was easy. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Several guests played pool all week, we had bocce games, and having the pool heated was the best decision, as we spent hours floating in the warm water! Highly recommend this property!!

We had a wonderful time on our stay at HHI. This was our 2nd time staying at 17 pelican. It is always so clean, which is highest priority for us. We love the outdoor area around the pool and used it every night. They came and cleaned the pool mid week for us so the pool was always clean. We had an issue with the AC and they came and fixed it immediately. Will def be staying here again!

The home and the service exceeded our expectations. The booking process from start to finish was easy and straightforward, and we even received a phone call a few days before arrival to see if we had any questions. As for the home itself, it is gorgeous and clean. It is tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac, only a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. The kids loved the pool, we spent a lot of time on the private and well furnished patio. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could possibly need for cooking (crab pots, 2 types of coffee makers, griddle, etc) and as a family with kids we really appreciated the plastic dinnerware. The bedrooms are spacious, and the dining table is large and perfect for a bigger family. For the game enthusiasts, there is a pool table, checkers game table, and a bocce ball court (balls are provided). This is the first time we have rebooked a vacation home for next year, that’s how happy we were with it. It really did fit everything we needed, and then some. As for the island in the summer, there are lot of things to do. Free concerts, fireworks, kids activities down in Shelter Cove, Lowcountry Celebration Park in Coligny, and of course the beach. After visiting many beaches on the Carolina coasts, HHI has become our favorite. -the only thing I could recommend is a laundry basket for the laundry room. The home had everything else we needed.

This is the second year we have used Destination Vacation to book Pelican’s Nest. The booking and communication for check in and check out was great. We had a minor water heater issue we reported and someone immediately came over to resolve it so they are quick to address any problem you may have. The home itself is beautiful, VERY clean, well stocked and has the most wonderful dining room table so your large group can all sit together. The pool table is enjoyed by both kids and adults as well as the pool outside with plenty of seating all around it. It is such a short walk to the beach, even with young children. I would not change a thing - our stay was perfect!

We thoroughly enjoyed the property during our stay last week. Everything was as advertised and fit our group perfectly. Checking in and out was a very simple process also. We did have to call your office numerous times prior to the trip asking if certain amenities were available at the property (i.e. coffee maker, toilet paper.) It would have been nice to have this information listed on your site instead of having to call. During our stay, we only had two issues - the washing machine would not drain and the air conditioning stopped working in the main living areas. Both of these occurred around the same time, so we later questioned if there was a power surge or something similar because the air came back on eventually and we simply restarted the washing machine. Your office contacted us before we could call you (the owner apparently had an app and noticed that the air temperature was rising).

We love Hilton Head and come every 1-2 years. Destination Vacation never disappoints. It’s nice to know that our needs will always be met. This is the second consecutive year we have stayed at 17 Pelican. It is a beautiful home that is perfect for us. Great kitchen with everything we need to cook and hang out. Dining room is perfect for family meals and game nights. Also love the pool table! We all had our own bathroom, and the bedrooms were well suited for us. Our grand-daughters loved the bunk beds. This is our second year staying in the house at 17 Pelican. It is an amazing house and comes with absolutely everything you need or could want. It’s nice that each bedroom has their own bathroom with shower so everyone has their own space and privacy. The kitchen is equipped with everything and there’s plenty of space for everyone at the dining room table. The location is also perfect. Close to the beach, shopping, grocery and restaurants. Close enough to walk or bike to all of these places if you desire. The walk to the beach is just a few minutes across the street. When we weren’t at the beach we enjoyed hanging out poolside where there is plenty of seating and lounge chairs.

Hello, We loved the house, and the location as well. The house met all of our needs. Grandkids loved playihg in the heated pool. The only thing I would add is to have another trash day when you have a large group. We will come again, and we will book at your place.

The rental house was awesome. Had everything we wanted and more. The only thing was the lawn service came and irrigation problems. Two things we thought of as suggestions. One is that the dining room needed more lighting and second the bedroom next to the laundry room could have used additional towel racks. It was a gorgeous house and might consider staying there again or suggesting to friends and family.
